Dug well owners: it is important to service and inspect the well. This customer had a positive bacteria test. Upon inspection we found the ground level well tile had shifted 8” creating a large opening allowing direct surface water infiltration that caused the bacterial contamination. The tile was also compromised and the concrete was crumbling away. We removed the bad tile and installed a new well tile, sealed the seems and reworked the clay apron. Finished the job with a well chlorination and system disinfection. Are you unsure of the integrity of your well?
